Ole believes Greenwood's time has arrived

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that the time may have arrived for Greenwood to play an even more active role for the first team.

Mason Greenwood has made a stunning start to life at United. This being his first full season in the first team, he has scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists which is not at all bad for a rookie making his way into the toughest league in the world. But Solskjaer has been cautious and careful with him, not wanting to hamper his development he's not started him as much as fans would have liked. It's rumoured that Mason has developed 3KG of muscle which will help him to take on the defenders and perhaps Ole could start him more.

"Mason is a young boy, he's still 18 and this lockdown period has done him all the good in the world," Solskjaer told Manchester Evening News. " At his age, they do develop and fill out and Mason's looking more and more like a man, so definitely it will help him. Sometimes early on, you could see he was a kid. Now in training he can use his strength better and he has done really well over the three or four weeks we have been training now.

" And his quality in front of goal  has always been there and now he has muscles to push defenders away. I am not sure it was deliberate but the fitness coaches have worked really well with him. He's got the rest and recovery period after him what must have been an intense first full season with the first team. He is looking good. I am looking forward to seeing more of Mason, he will score more goals. He has filled out over the lockdown period and his performances in training have been great as well. So I am sure he will have an impact on the rest of the season as well."

Given Ole's comment, it wouldn't be surprising to see Greenwood in the starting line-up tonight against Spurs. The attack is surely gonna be deadly with Greenwood in the line-up and he's more of a natural finisher than Rashford and Martial is. We are very impressed with Mason so far, and surely would love to see more of him. We have a gem in our hands.
