Daniel James's agent speaks out on rumours of a loan move

Daniel James's agent Jonathan Barnett  has addressed rumours of his client going out on loan amid concerns of lack of playing time next season.

James moved to United this season from Championship side Swansea City in a £15m deal and has done more than what was expected of him.  He started on a bright note and became a regular in the starting XI, but a recent blip in form has resulted him being benched out in favour of teenage sensation Mason Greenwood. He has still managed to make 40 appearances in which he has scored 4 goals and provided 7 assists. The games played and return is not bad for a player coming from second tier. Utd being linked to Jadon Sancho, who's a right-winger, a position James plays in could further reduce his playing chances.

It is rumoured that to make sure his development isn't hampered, United will loan him out next season to gain some valuable experience. James's agent Barnett spoke to Stretty News about his future.
He said, "  I think if you don't have that character [fighting mentality] you shouldn't go to United. We as a company have a responsibility to help them and point these things out and in Dan's case it was obvious he has that character. I think if you asked generally the people at Manchester United and I am presuming, I haven't spoken to them but they would be very pleased with his progress.

" It's very normal with a young player that he has a little dip in his form at the same time that the other guys have done extremely well, so he'll have to wait his chance and when he gets it, he'll take it. No [ James won't leave on loan]. He's a major part of Man Utd's team. I see him playing for Man Utd.

I absolutely agree with Jonathan, James, he's a young player and a dip in form at this stage of his career is big part of his development. It's a learning phase for him and I'm sure he will be back better than before. Even if Sancho joins next season, James shouldn't leave on loan as it's important for the team to have bench strength, and James will be providing that. Besides, Sancho himself is young and surely at one point will have some blip in his form too and James then can make a spot in the starting XI. At the same time, competition with Sancho will make James a better player. Hope you stay at United next season Dan!

Arbab
