Ole has leapt to the defence of De Gea in his pre-match press conference for the match against Sheffield United on Wednesday night. He's made clear that for him, De Gea is still the ' best goalkeeper in the world'.
When asked by Manchester Evening News, he said, " David is the best goalkeeper in the world, he's conceded two goals in the last seven he's played for us, there are City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton, two goals in seven games, we've gone on a run and the two goals. The Everton one is a freak one, this one he can't save it, he makes great saves, wins games for us and he's still the best goalkeeper in the world. David is working really hard, he isn't making errors you see time and time again. He's working hard in training, I'm pleased with his work.
" He's been at United nine years now, next year is his 10th season. He's had some fantastic seasons and I don't think it's a bad run if you concede two goals in seven games against teams we've have played. He's made match winning saves, he saved a point for us against Tottenham with a save, mentally a very strong keeper but I speak to him everyday, that's fine.
Clearly, Ole has reiterated his faith and belief in De Gea. He still regard him the best in the world, even though that's a bit far fetched. Even I still believe in David, he's still one of the best and is harshly being blamed for the goal against Spurs and he's not making as much errors as he did towards the end of last season. But yeah, whatever little error he's making, he needs to stop as Dean Henderson is lurking around. I hope we still get to see the very best of him and he being a big part of a hopefully coming glory days.
