Dean Henderson has been out on loan at Sheffield United for the past two seasons and has been terrific for the Blades in both the seasons. Sheffield United too have grown tremendously over the two seasons, first getting promoted to the PL and now fighting for a European spot ahead of the likes of Spurs and Arsenal.
Dean Henderson's meteoric rise coupled with a dip in form of De Gea has resulted in some fans demanding to make him United's no1 next season. However, given his lack of experience in the top flight and De Gea being one of the best players over the past 4-5 seasons and deserving a chance to prove himself once again, Henderson's chances of being first choice at United next season are slim.
Despite signing goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, Wilder is keen on extending Henderson's spell at the Bramall Lane, he said ( via Manchester Evening News): " Dean and Manchester United knows our views on that, we already have started talking to the player and Manchester United. It is their decision and the boy's decision, we would love that for another season and when we get the news on that decision we will let you know.
" Wes was available, we needed to strengthen that department, there will be a couple of changes going forward in that department. He became available, a free transfer and a three-year deal."
While Dean Henderson is no doubt United's no1 for the future, currently there's no place to accommodate the young keeper with De Gea and Romero at the club. Solskjaer still believes in De Gea and would like to keep the Spaniard as his first choice for the foreseeable future. Even I believe in the same, De Gea deserves chance to once again prove himself that why he was at once the best in the world
