Borussia Dortmund legend and sporting director Micheal Zorc is attracting interest from Manchester United as their search for a director of football continues. Manchester United are reported to have resumed their search for a director of football as Ed Woodward seeks to bridge the financial and sporting gap in the club. He wants to focus more on the financial aspects of the game and would like to bring in a director between him and the manager who would have a considerable amount of influence in the recruitment and other sporting aspects.
He spent 17 years as a player at Dortmund and was part of the Champions League winning side of 1997. He retired in 1998 and has been at the club in a directorial capacity ever since. He's widely considered one of the best sporting directors in the world and is known for bring exciting players, young and experienced, for a very favourable price.
Even though Zorc is a great option to consider for the directorial role, it's highly unlikely he will leave Dortmund for Manchester. As much as tempting it may be, Zorc is committed to BvB and won't leave until at least the club has managed to snatch the Bundesliga once again from the hands of rivals Bayern Munich. United should look at more gettable options like Antonio Henrique, Monchi of Sevilla or even one of our own Edwin Van Der Saar, who currently is the CEO of Ajax. May the best man joins the club and take the club further forward along with Ole.
