Sanchez was at the centre of a tug of war between both sides when he completed his move to Manchester United from Arsenal in 2018.
In hindsight his decision to head to Old Trafford looks to have been the wrong one, but he could still find himself sporting the blue of City, if reports from Chile are accurate.
The forward's future beyond the end of this season is still up in the air as his loan spell at Inter Milan comes to a close.
And Chilean newspaper La Cuarta state that City have already been in touch over a switch to The Etihad.
Sanchez has been performing well at the San Siro and Inter are keen to take him back on loan again next season.
United would likely rather not loan him to City, and are believed to be open to a similar deal for him to stay at Inter.
But City are trying to muscle in on negotiations by asking what Sanchez's demands are for next season.
The 31-year-old is on a £400,000-per-week deal at United, whom are desperate to get the star off their wage bill.
They value him at £17million too, meaning any potential suitors would have to stump up some significant cash, which has put Inter off a permanent deal.
Though having said that, it is likely Sanchez's loan deal could include an obligation to buy clause at the end of the contract.
